Hello and greetings, everyone. This is Edward from
00:03
The Webpage Site dot com.
00:04
Thank you for stopping by. So, um For, for this format,
00:09
we’re going to try a little bit things a little bit differently.
00:12
So a couple of businesses in my group were doing this
00:16
30 day social media challenge.
00:18
So you may see a little bit more videos than normal
00:21
from me, but uh don’t fear, don’t fret the content will all
00:26
have value, I won’t be spamming your feeds anyway.
00:29
Um something major happened this week and initially
00:34
for this video is going to talk about uh November sales
00:38
and prepping for sales and black friday and I’ll probably
00:40
talk about that later later uh this week, but in terms of
00:45
the major thing, if you have Children, you know exactly
00:47
what the major thing was,
00:49
Roblox was down for almost 72 hours.
00:54
That’s huge. Look, so if you, if you don’t know what
00:58
Roblox is, Roblox is a gaming platform, but its been
01:02
kicking butt and taking names.
01:03
So a lot of people guys
01:05
know about Minecraft and Fortnite.
01:07
Well, roadblocks is, is coming out ahead on in many
01:10
different plays in the space.
01:11
So, I mean they’re kicking, but like I said, and taking
01:14
names in the, in the
01:15
formats of virtual currency and gaming.
01:18
Uh and then also just
01:19
uh this game design and structure.
01:22
Um they really pioneered several aspects of the game
01:26
design anyway, It was down for 72 hours and my kids,
01:32
all three of them, they love Roblox, so they didn’t know
01:34
what to do with themselves all this extra time.
01:36
But that got me to thinking about some of the stuff that
01:42
I said in some of the
01:43
past videos, in terms of contingency plans.
01:46
So roadblocks is one of the bigger players in the online
01:52
media and marketing space.
01:53
So they have teams of people to work on their systems
01:56
and diagnose problems and bring stuff back online and
01:59
they’re servicing millions of users on a daily basis.
02:03
But in terms of your business, what are you doing uh to
02:07
ensure that your business is protected?
02:10
Do you have a contingency plan?
02:13
Uh If for some reason that your platform went offline, I
02:17
know a lot of websites can be on different platforms in
02:20
terms of business.
02:21
So I mean people can sell products on Facebook, on
02:24
Instagram, on Shopify, on Wix, on wordpress, on
02:28
Square, so many different platforms out there.
02:30
But even with all the platforms out there uh and and all
02:34
of their disparities, you should have something out
02:36
there to protect your business
02:38
to isolate you from outages.
02:40
I don’t know about you but 72 hours is a long time to be
02:43
off the air.
02:44
And especially now with it being the holiday time in the
02:47
holiday seasons, there’s a lot more consumers online
02:50
looking to purchase your products.
02:52
So um in the comments below, I’d love to hear how you
02:57
guys are handling adversity and what you’re doing to
03:01
enhance your online security to protect your brand and
03:06
in the event of an outage.
03:07
What what would you guys do in that scenario that
03:10
you’re um online store went offline.
03:12
Alright guys, so, um that’s my question for today,
03:16
Monday November 1st, and um go ahead and drop it in
03:20
the comments below.
03:21
I will see you guys next video.
